A catch-all e-mailbox is one that collects all the email messages sent to invalid addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone miswrites it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Just one mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and in this way you’ll never miss messages because the other side has an outdated address or has made a spelling mistake. The downside of setting up a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving plenty of unsolicited bulk email messages, but this problem can be fixed by using an anti-spam filtering solution. It’s also important to remember that a mailbox with an activated catch-all functionality cannot forward incoming email messages to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Hosting

If you have a hosting with our company and you’d like to activate the catch-all functionality for a specific email mailbox that you have in the account, it’ll take literally just one mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to do this. A catch-all button is available next to each email address that you have created under any domain registered in your account. You can pick one email address per domain by clicking the corresponding button. This will activate the feature straight away, so all email messages sent to mistyped addresses will be received there. Clicking the button for a second time will turn off the catch-all feature. If you’ve got activated email forwarding, our system will show a warning notification and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature until you deactivate the forwarding or you can simply choose another mailbox to be the catch-all one.
